Whatever your interest, we have guides who are keen to help you create and/or deliver your tour.
Film & literature themed tours
Scotland has been used a huge number of times for filming and continues to be so – The Wicker Man, Highlander, Harry Potter, World War Z, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, James Bond’s The Spy Who Loved Me and Skyfall, Entrapment, Rob Roy, Local Hero and many more have been filmed here.
We can put together bespoke itineraries for you to visit many of these filming locations.
City of Literature
Edinburgh is designated a City of Literature for good reason – whether your interest is contemporary literature such as Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith or something more classical such as Robert Louis Stevenson or Sir Walter Scott, we have the perfect guide for you.
Whisky, beer & food tours
With so many to choose from, you could spend all your time in whisky distilleries ! Why not let us weave whisky through a tour of Scotland for you – Campbeltown, Island, Speyside, Highland or Lowland. Your holiday, your way, with as many or as few distillery visits as you like.
Scotland also has a range of artisan beer producers and a number of amazing food producers that we can include in your itinerary / tour.
Ancestry research & tours
The Scots travelled the world – so it stands to reason that there people all over the world want to research their Scottish heritage and come and explore Scotland. What could be more exciting than tracing your Scottish ancestors to an area of Scotland and then visiting the places that they used to live and work ?
We have partnered with Yvonne of Kilted Cousins Family Trees ancestry research to give you the basis to make the most of any ancestry visit to Scotland.
Employ Yvonne to research your family tree, marvel at what she finds out and then engage an Eyes-on-Scotland guide to design an itinerary and/or take you to the places that were important to your ancestors. You might find family burial plots, explore the area where they lived and worked, meet people who might have known your family and let our guides tell you about what life was like then and how it is now in that part of Scotland.
Please get in touch to find out more about what we can offer to support your ancestry tour.
Scotland is an outdoor lover’s paradise ! Do you want to climb a Munro (hill over 1000m), kayak around the coast, go river rafting, bungee jumping, scuba diving or walk along one of our spectacular beaches ? There is something here for everyone. Whilst our guides are not qualified instructors, we know plenty of people who are, and many of us regularly make the most of living in such a spectacular country !
A couple of our guides play the bagpipes and are invited to play at important events in Scotland and abroad. Other guides have a strong interest in traditional Scottish music and can introduce you to the music scene across Scotland.
One thing Scotland has plenty of is golf courses ! There are 9 and 18 hole courses in every corner of Scotland, from small villages of a hundred or so people up to the “legends” of St Andrews, Muirfield, Gleneagles, Carnoustie & Royal Troon. Wherever you wish your tour to take you, we can design and deliver an itinerary for golfers and non golfers alike.
